First United Methodist Church of Eastland
The First United Methodist Church of Eastland desired a new multipurpose space, but only had minimal space on their lot. Cornerstone welcomed the opportunity to enable the congregation to expand their ministry through an addition to their existing sanctuary. Through strategic programming of the space, the team developed an architectural design that seamlessly blended the new structure with the landmark church’s mellow Gothic Revival style.
A new additional revenue stream for the Church, Cornerstone designed a full-size sports court, capable of being converted into an event space, along with a large kitchen equipped to serve a large number of people efficiently.
In addition to working within the constraints of a small site footprint, Cornerstone had to take into account the surrounding businesses and narrow two-lane streets. The City’s only hospital sits adjacent to the church. Cornerstone designed the addition to preserve precious parking spaces on the church’s property.
