Project Architect
Cornerstone Projects Group has an exciting opportunity for a Design Build Project Architect in the Architecture & Construction field.
This full-time position offers an opportunity to use your experience and skills to contribute to interesting projects with a diverse group of clients including the commercial, health care, retail, worship, and multi-family housing sectors.
The position is full-time.
10+ years project related experience with simple to complex and/or design-build projects.
Knowledge of the appropriate documents and procedures and experience with development and implementation of models where the client was utilizing design-build or a similar model for the first time.
Experience utilizing the “best-value method” versus the “lowest responsible bidder method”.
Knowledge of bench markings other firms have made, and how these issues are approached differently.
Experience in developing and review of construction drawings and specifications.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all stages of project delivery.
Experience with owners, construction management teams, administrators and/or experience working professionally with a similar or related clientele in delivery of design-build projects.
Experience in the preparation, and modification of the following templates and project specific documents and tailoring them to client specific needs including: RFP/RFQ’s, Modification of General Conditions, Scoping Documents, Construction Documents.
Experience with conflict resolution, negotiation, and risk management.
Proficient skills and experience in the following computer programs: Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Required Education and Licenses
B.Arch or M.Arch in Architecture from an accredited university
A valid certificate of Registration as a Professional Architect by the Texas State Board
A valid certificate of Registration as a LEED AP BD+C by the USGBC
A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) or a Project Management Certificate by Project Management Institute (PMI) or Design Build Institute of America Certificate (DBIA)
Skills/Competencies
Knowledge of Texas building regulations and contract law.
Ability to
Prepare, analyze and interpret plans and specifications, government regulations and building codes.
Demonstrate a reliable, responsive and positive work ethic with the highest degree of integrity.
Effectively communicate the projects progress and commitment in working toward development and deployment of the design-build delivery model in coordination with all applicable internal/external agencies.
Exercise judgment and discretion on matters of interpretation of codes, guidelines and as-built conditions related to design-build.
Set priorities and manage competing demands. Can track, schedule, and execute tasks in order to meet team deadlines. Is organized and proficient at multi-tasking.
Strategic thinking with a team building approach.
Special
The OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Training Course in Construction Safety & Health must be completed by all employees working and/or visiting any project site within 30 days of their start date.
A valid Texas Driver License.
